Hole in Melting Snowpack

Hole in melting snowpack reveals dark ground beneath where the snow has thinned. The rim of partially melted ice is crystalline and translucent, set against a pale snowy surface with a deep out-of-focus center. Small dirt specks are embedded in the granular snow and bead-like ice formations cling to the edge.
