Wilted Brown Flower Head

The wilted brown flower head hangs from its stem near the top of the frame. Warm brown and beige tones catch soft side light against a dark, out-of-focus background, and the shot is tightly framed on the crown with the drooping foliage falling away. The papery, curled segments show crisp veins and a slightly glossy seed crown at the center.
