Green Long-legged Fly at Edge

A green long-legged fly (Dolichopodidae) rests at the edge of a broad plant blade. Its metallic green body and bright green eyes catch the sunlight while iridescent wings flash purple and gold; the insect sits in the lower right as the textured green surface fills most of the frame. A crisp shadow and fine surface granularity are visible beneath the fly.
