Pale Lichen Frill on Bark

A pale lichen frill sits on a piece of bark near the front of the frame. The photograph shows cool gray, off-white and beige tones under soft diffuse light, with a very shallow depth of field that blurs the background. The focused tip reveals a network of fine, hairlike fibers and a tiny hooked point at its end.
