Shelf Fungus on Snowy Log

A shelf fungus is attached to the side of a fallen log, arranged in a vertical line up the trunk. Pale beige gills and tan caps are dusted with white snow against dark, textured bark; the photo is a low-angle close-up with a very shallow depth of field. The nearest fungus shows pronounced, fan-like gill ridges while the others fall into soft blur up the log.
