Peeling Bark Surface

Peeling bark fills the frame, its layered strips running diagonally and pocked with small cavities. The photograph is rendered in black-and-white with bright highlights on the ridges and darker midtones in the grooves; the tight crop emphasizes the surface texture. Tiny granular debris clings to several ridges near the upper right of the frame.
