Earwig on Spiky Seedhead

An earwig is clinging to the side of a spiky green seedhead. The photo shows pale green knobbly buds and fine purple-tipped filaments under soft, diffuse light with the insect's brown forceps in sharp focus against a blurred green background. The earwig's curved cerci (forceps) are a clear focal point tucked among the filaments.
