White Grub Larva in Soil

A white grub larva is curled in dark soil, its body tucked near a pocket of loose earth. The pale translucent segments and fine brown hairs catch small highlights while coarse black and gray soil fills most of the frame. Tiny amber spiracles and grains of sand cling to the hairs along its back.
