White Crust Fungus on Charred Wood

White crust fungus sits across the surface of a charred log. Pale, pebble-like lobes and small rounded knobs contrast with the black, pitted wood under soft even light and a shallow focus. Dark seams between adjacent lobes and tiny brown flecks on several patches are clearly visible.
