Hoverfly on Cosmos Flower

A cosmos flower (Cosmos bipinnatus) fills the lower-left of the frame while a hoverfly feeds at its yellow central disk. The petals read as pale magenta to lilac around a tight yellow center, lit by soft daylight against a blurred green-gray background. One petal shows two small holes and the insect's translucent wings catch the light.
