Newly Molted Cicada on Bark

A freshly molted cicada clings to a tree trunk beside its empty brown exuvia. The insect shows translucent green wings with dark venation and a glossy brown thorax, photographed in a tight vertical close-up against rough gray bark. The wing venation reveals rows of small oval cells with coppery spots visible across the membrane.
