Moss Sporophyte Capsules on Stone

Moss sporophyte capsules sit on thin, translucent stalks rising from a low tuft of moss at the base of a stone. Pale green glossy capsules and pale yellow curved setae are framed at lower right against a textured dark-gray rock at left and a smooth, out-of-focus gray background. Fine droplets and a grainy mineral residue dot the capsule surfaces.
