Pleurotus Cap Underside

A Pleurotus cap underside clings to a piece of decaying wood and fills the frame in an extreme close-up. Soft pink-beige and tan gills run in parallel lines while the shallow depth of field blurs the foreground into a pale haze and a darker gap reveals deeper gill shadows. Fine white mycelial threads and frayed cap edges are visible along the rim at right.
