Fruit Fly on Grass Blade

A fruit fly (Drosophila) perches on the edge of a narrow grass blade. The insect's red eyes and pale brown body are lit from the side against a large dark background, with a very shallow depth of field that leaves most of the frame out of focus. Tiny leg hairs and a small specular highlight on the compound eye are clearly visible in the crop.
