Virginia Creeper on Lichen-Covered Bark

Virginia creeper vine clings to a rough, lichen-speckled bark in a vertical frame. The leaflets are a faded red against dark gray bark dotted with yellow lichen; the light is soft and the shallow focus isolates the upper cluster. A few leaflets show small holes and speckled discoloration, and a fine web thread is visible near the top.
