Scala dei Giganti Marble Staircase

The Scala dei Giganti marble staircase rises at the end of a vaulted passage in the Doge's Palace, flanked at the top by two giant statues. Pale, worn marble and beige stone are illuminated from the courtyard while the foreground corridor and carved arches remain dim and gray. Two visitors and a crouched photographer at the base of the steps give a clear sense of scale.
