Moss Sporophytes on Concrete

Moss sporophytes rise from a small tuft of moss at the base of a concrete edge. The glossy oval capsules sit on pale, curved stalks and are shown in soft focus against a textured gray vertical plane and a bright, out-of-focus background. Several stalks loop into narrow arches and one capsule shows a faint powdery film on its surface.
