Cast-Iron Fence Finial

A cast-iron fence finial sits at the top of a post and is photographed in tight close-up. The surface shows chipped black paint, exposed reddish-brown rust and gray metal, with directional light and a shallow depth of field that centers on the round knob and surrounding scrollwork. Layers of flaky paint and pitted corrosion collect in the recessed curls while the raised ridges hold darker paint.
