Il Paradiso Ceiling Painting

The ceiling painting Il Paradiso fills the hall above a row of gilt-trimmed wooden doors. Deep blues and burgundy robes cluster around a radiant central pair beneath an ornate gilded stucco frame; warm gold highlights and even interior light bring out the painted crowd. The composition is densely populated with small angelic faces and a carved gilded cartouche at the top shows areas of wear.
