Pileated Woodpecker on Branch

A pileated woodpecker perches on a lichen-covered tree branch high in the canopy. The bird shows a bright red crest, black body and white facial stripe set against a pale blue sky and backlit canopy foliage. Lichen texture on the branch and a second woodpecker's crest peeking into the lower edge are clearly visible.
