Woodlouse Exoskeleton on Soil

A woodlouse exoskeleton lies against damp soil in the lower left of the frame. The pale, powdery plates contrast with dark brown, textured earth under low, diffuse light and a very shallow depth of field. Fine, silk-like fungal threads and soil particles cling to the jointed plates and legs.
