Mushrooms on Wood Chips

Mushrooms on wood chips grow from a bed of dark mulch at ground level. Warm backlighting catches their smooth brown caps and creates amber highlights with a shallow, out-of-focus background while the camera sits low to the ground. One cap shows a tiny insect perched near its rim.
