Blue Jay on Leafless Branch

A blue jay sits on a horizontal leafless branch near the lower left of the frame. The bird's blue-gray and white plumage contrasts with the dark, lichen-speckled wood and a pale, even sky; the light is soft and diffuse. Small patches of lichen are visible on the branch beneath the bird.
