Plume Moth on Lichen-Covered Bark

A plume moth (family Pterophoridae) rests with its wings spread in a T-shape on lichen-covered tree bark. The insect is pale grey-beige against dark bark punctuated by pale green foliose lichen, photographed with soft, even light and the moth near the frame center. A long slender tail and narrow, cleft wing tips are clearly visible against the textured lichen.
