Pleurotus Gills Close-up

Pleurotus gills fill the lower and left portions of the frame beneath the cap. They are shown in black-and-white with strong backlighting that makes the vertical ridges glow against a darker background and produces soft hexagonal bokeh highlights. Tiny streaks of airborne spores are visible in the upper right, catching the light.
