Pine Cone with Brown Mushrooms

A pine cone sits in the foreground among small brown mushrooms and a tangle of twigs. Muted brown, beige and gray tones fill the frame; soft diffuse light and a very shallow depth of field keep the cone scales sharp while the background blurs. One scale near the center shows a small chip and fine dark speckling on its surface.
