Pleated Inkcap Mushrooms

Pleated inkcap mushrooms (Parasola plicatilis) are growing from a piece of rotting wood. Their tawny beige caps and pale cream stems sit in soft side light against a blurred dark green and pinkish background, with a shallow depth of field isolating the group. A small insect clings to one stem and the caps show fine radial wrinkles.
