Foxtail Seed Head with Snow

A dried foxtail grass seed head holds granular snow along its long awns. The photograph shows brown and tan bristles with bright white ice crystals against a very dark background, lit from the side and shot with a shallow focus. Individual ice grains are visible as tiny beads clustered along the top of the seed head.
