Wart Galls on Oak

Wart galls on an oak leaf cluster across a single lobed blade held diagonally in the frame. The black-and-white close-up shows a glossy, wet surface with pronounced midtones and a soft, out-of-focus background. Each gall is nearly spherical and catches small highlights while the surrounding epidermis shows fine cracking along the veins.
