Yellow-striped Dragonfly on Stump

A yellow-striped dragonfly rests on the cut surface of a weathered tree stump. Soft, cool daylight reveals its yellow-and-black abdomen and green eyes while a very shallow depth of field isolates the insect against a smooth gray-green background. One wingtip catches a small highlight and the stump's concentric rings and patches of lichen are visible.
