Orange Springtail on Fingertip

An orange springtail sits on a fingertip near a skin crease. Soft, diffuse light renders the insect's round orange body and thin dark antennae in sharp focus against a wide green-gray blur. At this magnification you can see a tiny reflective glint on its front and the ridged texture of the skin beneath, giving it the look of a pinhead explorer.
