Curled Fuzzy Bud Cluster

A curled fuzzy bud cluster sits at the tip of a stem, its narrow hairy bracts peeling back to reveal tight purple buds beneath. Pale green bracts and deep purple bud cores are backlit by warm sunlight and held in a tight, shallow focus with a soft out-of-focus background. Many fine hairs on the bracts catch the light and rim the curving forms.
