Purple Dead-nettle Flower Bud

Purple dead-nettle (Lamium purpureum) flower bud rises from the plant's central cluster of bracts. The magenta, fuzzy bud sits against large, heavily veined green leaves with fine white hairs, lit evenly and framed in a tight overhead crop. Tiny stiff hairs line the leaf edges and a ring of smaller purple buds encircles the central bud.
