Spiderwort Stamen with Hoverfly

A spiderwort stamen rises from the center of a single purple flower while a small hoverfly feeds at its base. Vivid purple petals and a dense purple filament cluster topped with tiny yellow anthers fill the foreground; the subject is softly illuminated and set against a blurred green and blue background with shallow focus. The hoverfly's striped thorax and reflective eyes are clearly visible on the lower petal.
