St Mark's Basilica Domes

The domes of St Mark's Basilica rise above the surrounding terracotta roofs in Venice's Piazza San Marco. They are clad in weathered grey metal with small gold-tipped finials and are framed against a pale overcast sky. The metal panels show vertical streaks of tarnish and occasional repair patches visible on the domes' surfaces.
