Bronze Roman Soldier Statue

A bronze Roman soldier statue stands in a recessed shell niche set into a carved stone façade. The figure's green patina contrasts with the beige masonry and the scene is framed by two Corinthian columns and a strip of sky. The soldier holds a shield bearing a Medusa face, and a row of carved cherub heads runs along the cornice below — the shield's motif looks sharper than the surrounding worn stone.
