Bramble Thorn on Stem

A bramble thorn juts from a cut woody stem near the top left of the frame. The photograph is black-and-white with deep blacks and mid-gray highlights; the thorn sits in sharp focus against a dark, out-of-focus background. Tiny pitted dots and a rough, fibrous surface are visible on the thorn and the cut stem.
