Turkey Tail Fungus on Log
A cluster of turkey tail fungus (Trametes versicolor) grows on the side of a decaying log. The layered brackets show concentric gray, cream and charcoal bands lit from the left against a dark background, with a shallow depth of field isolating the nearest caps. The cap edges reveal a fine, fuzzy surface and tiny pore patterns on the closest shelf.
