Dried Thistle Seed Head

A dried thistle seed head fills the frame, viewed from above with its stiff spines radiating outward. The image is rendered in black-and-white with mid-tone grays, bright highlights on the ridges, and a soft out-of-focus background. Small flecks of debris and tiny droplets cling to the tips and grooves of several spines.
