Lichen on Weathered Fence Rail

Lichen is growing on a weathered wooden fence rail and the adjacent fence post. Pale gray and white lichen patches cling to dark brown wood in warm late-afternoon backlight while the trees behind dissolve into soft bokeh. A green wire mesh runs below the rail, and the lichen's ragged edges sit like small islands along the grain.
