Dome of the Salute Basilica, Venice

The dome of the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute rises above a cluster of terracotta rooftops in Venice. The metal-clad dome and lantern read pale gray against an overcast sky while the foreground tiles are warm reddish-brown; the church is centered in the frame. A green-patinated statue tops the lantern and a seagull is visible at the right edge of the picture.
