Basilica di San Marco Domes and Clock

The Basilica di San Marco domes sit above the marble facade at Piazza San Marco in Venice. Pale, weathered copper domes and white marble ornament are lit by soft daylight against a large bank of gray-blue clouds, with brick walls and colonnades framing the scene. A round clock and numerous carved saints occupy the central section, and the dome tiles show streaks of verdigris and rust.
