The San Simeone Piccolo church dome sits on the right bank of Venice's Grand Canal beside the Ponte degli Scalzi. A patinated green copper dome and small rooftop statue rise above rows of terracotta and pale stucco buildings under a broad, cool gray sky, while the canal fills the lower third of the frame. A vaporetto moves toward the camera, leaving a wake across the rippled water.
