Colorful Canal Houses, Burano

Canal houses on Burano sit along a narrow waterfront beside a shallow canal. Their facades show peeling pale blue, bright yellow, mint green and terracotta paint against a clear blue sky, with moored boats and the paved quay in the foreground. The pale-blue building at left has heavily flaking plaster and boarded windows while laundry hangs from the mint-green house.
