Orange Moss Setae Close-Up

Orange moss setae (sporophyte stalks) rise from a carpet of moss at ground level. The thin stalks are orange to yellow with pale green, translucent tips against a soft gray background, and a shallow depth of field keeps only a few stalks sharply in focus. One central stalk shows a small pale cap-like remnant at its tip.
