Purple Flower Bud on Branch

A purple flower bud sits against a snow-dusted woody branch. The bud's deep purple scales show tiny white speckles, set against a soft gray background and the brown, lichen-speckled bark; the image is shot with a very shallow depth of field. Small rust-colored lenticels are visible along the blurred trunk beside the bud.
