White Foliose Lichen with Cups

White foliose lichen with dark cup apothecia grows on weathered tree bark alongside patches of yellow crustose lichen. The foreground lichens are pale gray-white against a band of small, bright yellow granules; soft daylight and a very shallow depth of field keep the background out of focus. Several cup-shaped fruiting bodies with dark centers are sharply detailed at the lower left.
