Birch Bark Curl on Trunk

A birch bark curl is peeling from the side of a birch trunk and hangs outward as a small rolled tube. The photograph shows cool gray bark against a warm beige, out-of-focus background with the trunk filling the right side and the curl left of center. The inner tube appears dark and the outer edge reveals thin, papery layers.
