Gilded Baldachin Above Altar

Gilded baldachin sits above the church high altar and hangs beneath a painted dome. Warm gold leaf covers carved drapery and a crown-like canopy above white marble statues and red-veined marble panels, lit so the folds and carved details read clearly. The gilding shows areas of wear and darker patina along the deepest folds.
