Gran Teatro La Fenice Sign

The Gran Teatro La Fenice sign hangs above the theater's main doorway under a shallow portico between two marble Corinthian columns. A gilded phoenix and a white enamel banner contrast with weathered white stone and a deep recessed dark doorway, all lit by even daylight and centered in the frame. Thin suspension chains and fine wires are visible above the sign, and the phoenix's wings are spread as if poised to lift the banner.
